  • We are pleased that you are our patient and have listed below the minimum standards which we aim to achieve for you. You can expect to be greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner and to be treated with courtesy by everyone in the Practice.

  • Your confidentiality will be maintained at all times.

  • You are entitled to clean, comfortable premises with good access for the disabled.

  • Whenever possible you will be seen by the Doctor of your choice.

  • We guarantee you will be seen the same day for a consultation if you require an emergency consultation but not necessarily by the Doctor of your own choice.

  • Repeat prescriptions will be available from reception two full working days after ordering except for weekends and bank holidays.

  • Requests for routine daytime visits should be received before 10.00am and will normally be fulfilled by the Doctors on the same day. After this emergency requests will be relayed to the duty Doctor, who will contact you with medical advice as soon as they are available.

  • You have a right to see your health records (subject to the limitations of the law).

  • You can expect to be offered appropriate advice about how to stay healthy and avoid illness.

  • Information and advice about the services we offer is contained in this website and our Practice booklet and further information can be obtained on request.

Patient responsibilities

Help us to help you

  • If you make an appointment you are responsible for keeping it or giving sufficient notice of cancellation to enable another patient to use that time.

  • Our appointments are for ten minutes and intended for one person only. Please ask if you require longer or more than one person will be attending.

  • Please be punctual for appointments. Your lateness will delay other patients, Doctors and yourself.

  • A Doctor can see more patients in Surgery than doing home visits. Only ask for a home visit if the patient is too ill or infirm to come to the Surgery.

  • Night visits are strictly for genuine emergencies that will not wait until the next morning Surgery. Please remember that the Doctor who you call out has been working all day and will be working the following day.

  • You are responsible for the behaviour of your children. For their safety please keep them under control when visiting the Surgery.

  • Help us to keep our records up to date by advising us of any changes in your circumstances.

  • Ultimately you are responsible for your own health and we invite you to work with us to keep you in good health.

  • You will be treated as an individual and will be given courtesy and respect at all times, irrespective of your ethnic origin, religious beliefs, personal attributes or the nature of your health problems. In return we ask you to appreciate that we are trying to satisfy the needs of all our patients and would appreciate your cooperation.

  • Medical staff will advise you of the treatment they think appropriate which you may discuss if you wish. No care or treatment will be given without your informed consent. You have a right to see your health records written after 1st November 1991, subject to any limitations in the law.

  • People involved in your care will give you their names and ensure you know how to contact them. It is very important that notify us of any changes of name, address or telephone. Please note that if you move out of our practice are it will be necessary for you to register with another GP locally. A map of our area is displayed at reception.

  • It is our job to give you treatment and advice. In the interest of your health it is important that you understand all of the information. Please ask us if you are unsure of anything.

  • We aim to see patients within 20 minutes of their appointment time. If not, an explanation will be given. If for any reason you have been waiting for more than 30 minutes please speak to the receptionist.

  • If a doctor agrees that a routine referral is necessary, this will be completed and sent within one week. Urgent referrals will be made within 24 hours.
