The Practice Team
The receptionists are here to help and assist you. They can help with making appointments, requests for home visits, pass messages onto doctors/nurses and answer any general but NOT medical queries.
The administrative staff are here to provide secretarial services to the practice team as well as maintain the practice computer database.
The practice nurse carries out a wide range of nursing procedures at the practice. They are also trained to conduct a wide variety of well-person screenings including: cervical smears, giving health promotional advice, monitoring certain long term health conditions and providing contraceptive advice. They are also trained to take blood samples, Blood pressure monitoring, general health checks and Smoking Cessation Service.
Health visitors are qualified nurses with further health care training in the under 5 sector but particularly support families with young children.
They offer a service both at Waldron Health Centre and within your own home.
The district nurse performs nursing procedures within the homes of any patient not able to attend the surgery.
This service is available in the outreach antenatal clinic at Waldron health Centre.
